Alyssa's First ER visit

Let's hope it's her last ER visit! Tonight as I was getting ready to go to a meeting at Mackenzie's school, I hear Alyssa clunk her head against the wall. She had been standing with her new Learning Walker, lost her balance, hit her top lip & bonked her head on the way down. Chris scooped her up just as I arrived on the scene, only to find her little mouth gushing with blood (sorry for the visual). We raced into the bathroom to assess the situation & found that the little skin that connects the gums to the lip had split in half, leaving a gaping hole in her tiny mouth. We raced to get all 5 of us out the door & to the ER in case she needed stitches. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped on the way there so we figured she probably wouldn't need them. They prescribed her an antibiotic to keep her from getting an infection & sent us on our way. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep the second we got into the van. My poor baby.

  1. Oh no! Poor girl. I hope she feels better in the morning and doesn't scare mommy and daddy like that anymore.
