Project 52: Our First Date! (Hotel)

I recently came upon a blog called Simply Modern Mom. She & her hubby decided to make a 52 week commitment to have a date night once a week. It doesn't have to be over the top & she tries to keep most of their dates at home after the kids have gone to bed. Tiffany has invited anyone that wants to participate, to join in, sign the pledge & blog about their weekly date! Chris & I have decided to embark on the journey & invite you to do the same! :)

Date #1

Chris was a week behind on my Valentine's surprise since he was out of town, so on Thursday he told me that he had booked us a hotel room for Friday night. Since the hotel has a great waterpark area, he decided to include the kiddos as well. It has been a very long time since we've stayed at a hotel so I was thrilled with the surprise! The kids could hardly contain themselves when we told them the news :)
I spent part of Friday getting everything packed for the 5 of us & we were ready to go as soon as Chris got home from work.

We checked in, got situated, ordered pizza & after MUCH begging & pleading...went swimming! It was Alyssa's first time in a pool & she loved every second. Chris wasn't too thrilled that he had to get out of the pool to video tape & take a few pictures but didn't complain much since it's baby #3 & he knows the drill :) hehe

The king size bed was hugely amazing & SO cozy...so much so that we plan to buy one in the next few months! The kids slept great on air mattresses & Alyssa snuggled with us.

We had breakfast this morning in the restaurant & the kids got to go swimming once more before check out. We had a great little family trip...even if we never left the city.

  3. so fun! we stayed in a hotel (unplanned) over the weekend but only stayed for 7 hours and it was pretty janky. kids had fun regardless. sometime we'll plan a NICE hotel stay with a pool and have fun. we did that last year and it was a blast!

  4. What a fab pool - not sure I would have got my kids out of it at home time!

Must link my husband to this blog - far more romantic than being thrashed at Wii tennis! xo
