I realize that it has been over a month since my last post & although I've felt a bit guilty about it, I haven't felt guilty enough to sit down & update...until now. Life with 3 kids takes a bit of getting used to but for the most part, is wonderful. Alyssa has decided that I am the only human being that is good enough to hold her. I try to look at this as "loving" but my arms are telling me otherwise & Chris is starting to get a bit annoyed. I was FINALLY able to capture one of her first smiles on camera & as you can tell, she also has the signature dimple. These precious smiles are becoming more frequent & she has recently started to coo & giggle. Our little chunk weighed in at 11 pounds 11 oz. at her 2 month checkup :)
Preston celebrated his 2nd birthday Elmo style. I tried to keep things fairly simple since life was already hectic enough & I think it turned out perfectly. Family & friends came to our house & enjoyed Elmo cake & ice cream. Preston loved each of his gifts but his favorite was the bubble mower from mom & dad (yeah me!) He has been having lots of fun with Kenzie this summer & is working on being gentle with Alyssa :) He recently learned his ABC's & can count to 10.
Mackenzie seems to be enjoying her summer as well although she seems to think that "5" actually means "15". It has been hard for me to see her act so independant & I think I'm a bit snappy with her because of it. Any advice?! During naps, Kenzie & I have spent a lot of time outside together. We play in the pool or take turns on the slip-n-slide (I'm sure it's quite the sight to see me sliding on my belly across the lawn!) She is currently taking swimming lessons & recently finished track. It has been so much fun to see her doing new activities & Chris was so excited to watch her at her track meets.
It's hard to believe that July is almost half over & fall will be here before I know it. We are doing our best to enjoy the sunshine & our first summer with our own yard! We have a few trips planned in the coming months as well as many more updates on the kiddos. I promise to do my best at updating the blog...as long as Alyssa cooperates!
