Alyssa Has Arrived!

We checked into the hospital around 7am on April 29th. The doctor was already making her rounds so the nurse got us situated & she arrived shortly after. I was dilated between a 2 & 3 so she broke my water & soon after, started the pitocin. Hoping to speed the process along, I decided that Chris & I should walk the halls for awhile. We made quite a few stops at the nursery window to see all the tiny babies. It was motivating!
Around 11:30, I decided it was time for the epidural. I'm not a big fan of pain so I was definitely in the mood for some relief. Once the pain had subsided, I watched a little Y&R :) My doctor was in surgery that morning so she was back & forth with the nurses on the phone giving instructions. Apparently she wanted to be the one to deliver me so she instructed the nurse to shut off the pitocin if it looked like I was going to deliver before she arrived. She delivered Kenzie & Preston so I thought that was pretty nice of her.
Around 2:00, I knew she was about to make her appearance. Because the doctor would still be 10 minutes, I had to breathe through the pain. It was unlike my other 2 deliveries but I managed to hold out.
Alyssa Claire made her debut at 2:48pm...sunny side up. My first thought was that she looked a lot like Preston but now that she has been home for awhile, I definitely see Mackenzie in her as well.

She is absolutely the best baby! Eating about every 3 hours & doesn't cry unless we're taking too long to tend to her needs. We have been truly blessed :)
