This entire winter has been filled with germs for our household. I blame it on the fact that Mackenzie is in preschool & isn't overly cautious about sticking her hands in her mouth, on her shoes, on her brother's face...you get the picture. I have always been somewhat of a germ-a-phobe & usually steer clear of large group events where I'm positive there will be some sort of virus lurking, however, this winter has gotten the best of us.
About a month ago, Preston was diagnosed with walking pnemonia. He was miserable for a few days with a fever & yucky cough & was given his very first prescription...pretty good for 20 months! Mackenzie seemed to be doing just fine until last week when she came home from school in the most miserable state I have ever seen her in. Ear pain, sore throat, yucky cough...into the doctor's office we go. Took about a week for her to feel better at which point I was gladly ready to send her out the door to burn off some energy at school! Which brings us back to Preston...sick...again! I figured it was exactly the same thing that Kenzie had just gotten over but he was having a hard time keeping down fluids & food due to the fact that his little nose was so runny. Took him in only to find out that his O2 is low & he needs to be admitted to the hospital. After arranging for grandma to watch Kenzie for the night, Chris & I spent the next few hours with our sick little boy in the Peds. unit. After being told that we had received somewhat of a misdiagnosis, we were sent on our way. I was relieved because I was NOT prepared to watch my little boy get poked & prodded all night long! He was given medication & is doing MUCH better.
Which brings us to ME. Of course I was bound to get this wonderful cold sooner than later since I'm the one that gets sneezed on, puked on & picks up all the lovely used kleenex. I'm slowly starting to feel better but it has taken a few days with MANY naps & early bedtimes. I will leave that as my excuse as to why I haven't blogged in awhile. Forgive me?!

I hope you guys all get to feeling better soon and that you all stay healthy the rest of the winter. You guys sound like us last year. We have had our share of the colds and stuff this year, but last year was just one thing after the other. I will say a prayer for you guys right now. Love and miss you all.
